The german fanzine "http://www.count-your-bruises.de" made an interview with joey on his current Scorpios-Tour. Joey talked about Lagwagon and future plans. Here are the most important answers! About future plans: Question: You have got a lot of plates spinning. What is coming after this tour? Joey: For me, I am just building a studio in my house which is really boring…No one wants to hear about that. I am gonna do some recording, I think. I want to do a split, 7inches and stuff like that with people, acoustic stuff, but for the next months I will figure out how to use the new room. And I think in January next year is a Lagwagon-Tour. We haven´t toured a lot. Not much anymore. I don´t think that we will do a new record for the tour because we have this rerelease of the first five Lagwagon albums coming out and it´s a big enough thing that we just tour to support it. About new album: Question: When are you doing some new stuff with Lagwagon? We know that you probably get this question every day… Joey: Yeah, I know, but it is okay. I understand that people ask this question. I don´t know. Like never. Maybe never. Or January. No, next year we are going to touring a lot. We are touring with NOFX in January which will be cool. And maybe we will start working on new music but I don´t know. There are no plans. Read the full interview: www.count-your-bruises.de/p/answer-that.html

I was watching a few Youtube videos yesterday from some 08 tour ... I was kinda rubbed the wrong way by his comments to the crowd and just cutting off band mates trying to get one word in before the next song lol But fuck it man, he is a big deal. The guys got like hundreds of good songs to his name

pfffft. all written 10+ years ago. he just seems like a bit of a calk in a lot of his interviews. i remember when he talked about how he was taking singing lessons, and he gave the instructor a cd to listen to so she could get a gauge of what style he sings, and the next time he saw her, he asked her if she listened to it, she said yes, and the conversation ended there, and he was kind of expecting her to compliment him on his song writing. im sure he's a nice guy, but every time i wanna get my hopes up about lagwagon, the guy opens his mouth and says something that makes it sound like he hates being in lagwagon

I also think that he doesn't like Lagwagon any more. At least that's the impression. And he sounded like he thinks Fat Mike is musically limited to only punk and his label is only punk and he doesn't like that

He did not say anything about Fat Mike being musically limited to punk rock but when they were deciding on songs for a Gimmes album Mike did not know most of them and said it was because he was raised mostly on punk or only new punk but nothing about his playing. As far as his label, he said that Mike tried to diversify and it did not work out for him. He has never said anything about not liking Lagwagon. Who cares if he did not like it anyway? He may be tired of it. I hope I am not in the same job for 20 years.

i meant more in the sense that he thinks his musical ability is above punk music. that his acoustic stuff in the last 5 years is somehow more innovative than the first 3-4 lag albums. if joey started a new band with tony sly and some other guys and wrote fast music, it would be super awesome. its not that i want him to keep lagwagon alive, its that i want him to keep punk music alive. right now, he's not doing his part lol

(just kidding, all he said is that they're not planning to release a new album next year)

dont get so political over Lagwagon. Their last cd was terrible, and he doesnt want to make music for the sake of making music. Make it because it feels right, not to please hungry fans. They will tour, and if they click and feel it, some music may come out of it. Forcing new music makes you sound like newer NUFAN, and My older bro used to listen to lag. Go to their shows, they still play an A+ set.

since 1997? i think you mean since 2000's, the "feelings" leftovers were the last really great songs lagwagon wrote. and i dont mean blaze or resolve were horrible i just mean the albums dropped from a 9/10 to a 6/10

yes, but the feelings record came out in 98. the leftovers record was just leftovers of an album they already recorded. lagwagon has basically done 2 albums in the last 13 years. the live album and ep shouldnt really count since i think the ep are basically just joey cape acoustic songs they sped up to sell some lagwagon records

i always thought the leftovers was songs from several albums, not just feelings leftovers. 20+ leftovers from a single record is a ton
